Over 2.5 goals at Swansea vs Charlton 4/5 for Thursday’s Championship contest

Competition: Championship

Market: Over 2.5 goals

Odds: 4/5 @ Bet 365

In what could be a lively encounter on Thursday evening, Swansea will welcome Charlton to the Liberty Stadium in midweek.

Starting with the hosts, while back-to-back victories over Middlesbrough and Luton may have had fans around the Liberty believing they could be starting to refined their form, Swansea have continued to show some glaring inconsistencies. Only managing to snatch a point off of relegation scrappers Barnsley over the weekend, the Welsh outfit still find themselves sat two points adrift of the play-offs and continuing to show some struggles on home soil. Aside from their 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough last month, that was Swansea’s sole victory in front of their own supporters since the end of October. However, picking up a 2-1 win when they faced off against Charlton back in October, Thursday’s hosts should be confident of making a return to winning ways.

As for the visitors, despite playing the majority of their trip to Pride Park against 10 men, Charlton could only muster a 2-1 defeat against Derby and much like Swansea, they too have shown some worrying inconsistencies. With Head Coach Lee Bowyer seeing his side record just a single victory since the 19th of October, a huge part of their continued issues during December was some glaring struggles at the back. Once again shipping a pair of goals on the road over the weekend, the former England midfielder has seen his side ship at least a pair of goals in each of their last four matches on the spin. With a growing reputation for their high-scoring encounters, we’re backing another lively contest in South Wales.
