Competition: League One
Market: Oxford win
Odds: 6/4 @ Bet 365
Hoping to build off their current impressive run of form, Karl Robinson’s Oxford side will look to extend their unbeaten run when they host a struggling Coventry side on Sunday.
Starting with Robinson’s side, although Oxford could only land a lackluster 16th place finish last season, The Yellows have begun to impress of late. Coming off the back of a 3-0 win in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, they have are now unbeaten in their last four, winning three of those victories. Scoring 10 times in that unbeaten run, one man to watch for the hosts is summer arrival, Ricky Holmes. The 31-year-old found the net in their 3-0 win over Fulham’s U21’s in midweek and the former Sheffield United man now has three in his last four matches in all competitions.
As for Mark Robins’ Coventry side. although The Sky Blues might have gained plenty of plaudits for their performances on the way to the playoff final, the departure of last years top scorer Marc McNulty has left a huge void. Coming off the back of a 1-0 loss to Rochdale, Coventry have now remarkably only won one of their last 11 matches, a run stemming back to the playoff final in May. Now managing to not find the net in four of their last six, Coventry slumped to a 2-0 loss against Oxford in the League Cup last month.
