According to Sky Sports, Borussia Monchengladbach are set to consider a long term permanent move for West Ham United star Reece Oxford. The teenage sensation had two brief spells with the German club and they’re interested in something a little bit more secure, which would make sense given that the Hammers don’t appear to be interested in giving him consistent first team opportunities.
Ever since he first broke onto the scene Oxford has been pinpointed as the future of West Ham’s defence, although right now, Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t seem to see it that way. Monchengladbach were unable to tempt the Hammers back in January when they made a £13 million bid for Oxford, but if they are serious about making this happen, then it wouldn’t be all too surprising to see them bump that up to at least £20 million.
West Ham United will host Premier League champions Manchester City this weekend.
