The Mirror understands that Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be in line for a shock return to Southampton, five years after leaving the south-coast club.
The twenty-two year old has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium after making just nine league starts so far this season, with Liverpool and Manchester City also linked with a move to secure his services.
Since signing for Arsene Wenger’s side he has racked up almost one hundred and fifty appearances in all competitions, scoring fourteen goals and has been part of the squads that won the FA Cup in both 2014 and 2015.
Internationally, Oxlade-Chamberlain has been capped twenty-four times by England and was selected by Roy Hodgson for both the 2012 European Championships in Poland and Ukraine amd the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
His last appearance for his country came back in October, when he played in a 3-0 Euro 2016 qualifying victory over Lithuania.
