Germany boss Joachim Low has confirmed that he expects star midfielder Mesut Ozil to be fit for Friday’s high-profile friendly against Italy.
The Arsenal star was tipped to miss the international friendly with a bout of flu, but it appears he has recovered earlier than first predicted.
As a result, Joachim Low expects Ozil to take part in the final training session and possibly take his place in the starting line-up.
“Mesut is feeling better,” Low was quoted as saying in Bild. “I expect that he will take full part in our final training session (on Thursday).”
Germany will be looking to get revenge on Italy for the Euro 2012 semi-final defeat when they face the Azzurri at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, with away win available at 6/4.
Having notched no less than 8 goals in 10 World Cup qualifiers, Mesut Ozil is 9/4 to score anytime and end a minor goal drought.
Mesut Ozil was heavily criticized for his performance in the weekend’s derby match against Manchester United as well as for his decision to go on a night out afterwards, so no doubt he will be very motivated to prove the doubters wrong.
