Mesut Ozil said family values make Real Madrid successful as he looks to the Champions League Group D clash against Dinamo Zagreb.
The Germany international was full of praise for his side as they continue to dominate La Liga following Saturday’s 3-2 win over Valencia.
All the focus will now be back on Europe on Tuesday where Madrid can assure a top-of-the-group finish with a win against the Croatians.
Ozil believes the success currently being witnessed at the Bernabeu is thanks to Mourinho’s installation of values and cohesion among the players.
“We’re like a small family, this is what defines us,” Ozil said.
“Everyone fights, and every player gives everything for his companion. This feels real and makes you happy because it gives you confidence. And hence comes the success,” the German told Bwin.com.
Despite Madrid’s quality, Ozil was keen to pick out potential pitfalls against Zagreb.
“They stand out for their fighting qualities and ability to sacrifice,” he said.
“They are not in the Champions League by accident. Zagreb caused us problems in Croatia, but we are at home now, where we are strong.”
