Ozil turns down Fenerbahce?

According to a recent report from Bild, Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has turned down the opportunity to join Fenerbahce during the summer transfer window.

The former German international has barely featured in the starting XI during Mikel Arteta’s tenure with the club, especially since the restart of the Premier League. Alas, while he may be destined to leave the Emirates sooner rather than later, it doesn’t appear as if he’s going to be heading to Turkey.

The Turkish giants could clearly sense that there is something wrong right now, with Ozil not being given the opportunity to prove what he can do to the world. Regardless of where he goes next you’d have to imagine his playing days in North London are over, because while he can still contribute something to the first team, there are a lot of bridges that have been burned.

Now, we have to wait and see what sort of resilience he possesses.
