Palace want Loftus-Cheek to turn loan deal permanent

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is a classic example of Premier League giants Chelsea’s bizarre youth policy, mainly because he has very little chance of making it into the Blues’ starting XI and has thus been shipped out on loan.

Unlike many of his young Chelsea teammates, Vitesse was not the location that the midfielder was sent to, but instead London club Crystal Palace. The Eagles have been so impressed with Loftus-Cheek that they want to take him permanently, according to the Evening Standard.

The 21-year old has made 16 appearances in the English top flight for Palace so far this season, scoring once and adding two assists. As a Toulon Tournament winner, and the tournament’s Player of the Tournament in 2016, it is little surprise to fans that he has achieved success when given the chance.

Palace have hauled themselves out of the relegation zone under new manager Roy Hodgson, and securing Loftus-Cheek permanently would help continue their ascent of the table.
