Genoa forward Rodrigo Palacio has signed a new deal at Marassi, the club president has revealed.
The Argentine forward was linked with a deadline day move to Inter, but Neroazzurri instead opted for Lazio’s Mauro Zarate.
Palacio didn’t waste too much time thinking about what could have been, and has now signed a new contract with the Grifoni.
Genoa president Enrico Preziosi announced the deal speaking after the informal Serie A meeting.
“We have extended Rodrigo’s contract for another year and have increased his wages,” said Genoa president Enrico Preziosi.
“It is a sacrifice that we have done willingly because the player had been approached by many important teams throughout the transfer market.”
