Palermo sporting director Sean Sogliano revealed that the club missed out on an unnamed player in January.
The Rosanero official didn’t want to reveal the player’s identity but he confirmed that Palermo would be making a fresh bid for Mister X.
“There was a Mr X that we were not able to sign,” Sean Sogliano told the Corriere del Mezzogiorno.
“I won’t tell you who it was, but we will try again for him once the transfer window opens again in the New Year.
“For now though we’re all just concentrating on the Serie A game against Inter on Sunday. The adrenalin is pumping!”
Recent reports suggest that Palermo’s mystery player is either Juventus striker Amauri or Cesena midfielder Marco Parolo.
