Palermo coach Stefano Colantuono has been fired by the club after only one match in this season’s Serie A.

Club chairman Maurizio Zamparini, who has a reputation of easily hiring and sacking staff members, announced this decision today despite an opposing claim just a day earlier.

On Wednesday, Zamparini said that he would await the result of Palermo’s match with AS Roma, to be played next week.

It is the second time that Colantuono is fired at the Sicilian club, receiving the same treatment November last year, only to be hired back four months later.
