Palermo sporting director Walter Sabatini has confirmed their interest in signing Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva.
Palermo have long been linked with a move for the Brazilian star, but Sabatini insists they have not made an offer for the midfielder.
“Leiva is a very strong player and I like him very much,” Sabatini told Calcionews24.com.
“But to speak of a deal already is not accurate. We have to wait. I cannot say any more.”
Sabatini denied last month that Palermo had made a €7million bid for the Liverpool star.
Palermo are looking to strengthen their squad following the sales of Simon Kjaer, Fabio Simplicio and Edinson Cavani so far this summer.
