FoxSports Brasil has learned that Palermo are set to complete the signing of Boca Juniors attacker Jonathan Calleri.
The Argentine forward was always going to leave la Xeneize for greener pastures this winter and the latest reports suggest that the Rosanero have won the chase.
According to FoxSports Brasil, Palermo had a €12 million proposal accepted by Boca Juniors, with the transfer set to be wrapped up in the coming days.
Inter Milan were believed to be ready to make an offer as well, but it was their Serie A rivals that beat them to it.
Palermo chairman Maurizio Zamparini believes that Calleri can prove a good long-term replacement for Paulo Dybala, who was sold to Juventus in the summer.
Jonathan Calleri was one of Boca Juniors’ star performers in 2015, having managed 21 goals and 11 assists in 53 outings, and he will now get the opportunity to prove his worth in Italian Serie A.
