Joao Palhinha has signed a new contract with Fulham, the Premier League club have confirmed. He is now tied to the club until the summer of 2028, and the Cottagers have the option to extend his stay by a further year.
This development certainly represents in interesting turn of events. Palhinha was reportedly on the verge of leaving Fulham to join Bayern Munich this summer, a transfer that reportedly fell through just because the window in the Bundesliga closed before the paperwork was completed. Furthermore, his agent openly stated that the move to Bayern was “only delayed”, and it was widely expected to be done in January.
Now, however, things are obviously different, with Fulham in a very strong position to keep the 28-year-old in their ranks for as long as they feel his services are needed. It’s likely that Bayern will be looking elsewhere to strengthen their midfield ranks.
Harrison Reed has also signed a new contract with Fulham, valid until 2027, also with a club option on a one-year extension.
