Werder Bremen have agreed to the sale of Wesley to Palmeiras with the Bundesliga outfit satisfied with the club’s plans to make payments.
The former Santos playmaker had been in talks with Palmeiras for some time after falling out of favour at the Weserstadion, and according to Bremen sporting director Klaus Allofs, the transfer is now all but complete after his side received all the necessary documentation to close the deal.
“After we had agreed some time ago with the leaders of Palmeiras on the transfer fee, now all the bank guarantees have been received, which were necessary for the protection of the payments,” Allofs told Bremen’s official website.
“Although the transfer has dragged on, we were always in constant contact with leaders of Palmeiras, and all the agreements and deadlines were met.”
Allofs also confirmed the midfielder has been already begun training with Palmeiras, so it is now only a matter of time before he will be officially unveiled as Luiz Felipe Scolari’s latest signing.
Wesley arrived at Bremen in 2010 but the versatile Brazilian only managed 26 Bundesliga appearances for the club.
