(GSM) – Panathinaikos failed to extend their lead in the Greek Super League, crashing to a 2-1 defeat at PAOK Saloniki who in turn revived their title hopes.
The top clash of the day had first-placed Panathinaikos travel to face PAOK, who are currently third in the league.
After a goalless first half, PAOK scored the opening goal through Pablo Garcia in the 59th minute. French striker Djibril Cisse levelled five minutes later but PAOK had the final say as Zlatan Muslimovic made it 2-1 after another three minutes.
Panathinaikos needed a win to extend their lead to five points after arch rivals Olympiakos drew 1-1 at Ergotelis on Saturday.
Instead, ‘Pana’ are now only two points ahead of both Olympiakos and PAOK.
