Panathinaikos send Greek pair out on loan

Panathinaikos have loaned out Greek internationals Evangelos Mantzios and Christos Melissis to Portuguese Liga outfit Club Sporting Maritimo. Both players will stay in Madeira till the end of the 10/11 season.

The 27 year old Mantzios joined Panathinaikos from Panionios in 2005. However he was never quite been able to gain a permanent starting XI place and hence was loaned out to the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt, Anorthosis Famagusta, and most recently Maritimo.

Melissis, also 27, is a versatile centre half who can also play as a midfielder. He was on loan at Larissa last season and joined Panathinaikos in 2008.
