Greek champions Panathinaikos announced on Saturday that they have signed French international winger Sidney Govou for two years.
The Athens club said that Govou would arrive in Greece late Saturday from Morocco where he is vacationing and is expected to join the team for their first practice session of the season on Monday after going through a medical examination on Sunday.
The team did not announce financial details of the deal, but news media reports here say Govou will be getting 1.5 million euros annually.
Govou, 31, has played in 49 matches for the French national team scoring 10 goals.
On a club level Govou has played since 1999 with Lyon appearing in 292 matches and scoring 49 goals.
Govou will be joining French national side teammate Djibril Cisse who joined Panathinaikos last season and ended up the leading scorer in the Greek league.
There are also reports here that Panathinaikos may add another French international player, defender William Gallas, 32, who has left Arsenal.
