Panucci likely to stay at Roma

Italian veteran defender Christian Panucci is unlikely to join Premier League side Hull City and instead stay at Roma.

The 35-year-old’s agent, Oscar Damiani, claims Panucci has turned down the chance to move to the KC Stadium.

Panucci has decleared that he wants to leave Roma following a bust-up with coach Luciano Spalletti.

“I really think Christian will remain at Roma and respect his contract,” Damiani told LaRoma24.it.

“We have been unable to resolve the situation, which isn’t entirely surprising as we had very few days at our disposal.

“We have not reached any agreement. The proposals we received were not considered valid for the player.”
