Odds: 1/1 @ Bet 365
After finishing second in the Greek Super League last year, PAOK will look to move one step closer to booking their spot in this years Champions League when they welcome Swiss side Basel to Stadio Toumbas on Tuesday.
Starting with the hosts on Tuesday, although PAOK finished six points adrift of lifting the Greek Super League crown last year, Răzvan Lucescu’s side did manage to pick up a piece of silverware and have carried on their impressive form into the new season. Now with just one loss in any competition since the start of March, one man to watch for PAOK is former St Gallen striker Răzvan Lucescu. After scoring 19 league goals last season, the Serbia international topped the goalscoring charts and has also attracted interest from across Europe.
As for Raphaël Wicky’s Basel side, although the visitors may have comfortably picked up their 12th Swiss Super League title last season, The Reds have drastically struggled entering the new season and coming off the back of a 2-1 loss to St Gallen in their opening outing, Basel have now lost their last four matches on the bounce and their defensive issues have continued to cause concern. Now shipping 13 goals in their last four outings, Wicky’s side have now only managed to keep one clean sheet since the middle of April.
