(GSM) – PAOK went three points clear in the Greek Super League second-place playoff on Sunday with a 1-0 win over nearest rivals Olympiakos. Elsewhere, nine-man AEK went third with a 4-2 win over 10-man Aris.
PAOK and Olympiakos came into Sunday’s third of six matches level on seven points, but the home side took the early advantage when Zlatan Muslimovic scored in the 11th minute.
Olympiakos got no closer, and they are now in danger of missing out on the Champions League.
Elsewhere, 10-man AEK stormed ahead late to secure a win over Aris.
Rafik Djebbour opened the scoring for AEK in the 27th minute, but Sanel Jahic was sent off nine minutes later to give Aris an advantage.
Aris, however, gave it right back in the 39th minute as Toni Calvo got a second booking.
The match then got really strange in the 54th minute when Sebastián Saja reduced AEK to nine with a straight red that allowed Iván Cámpora to equalize from the spot.
In the 72nd minute, Eddie Johnson looked to have scored what would be the winner, but AEK came back with a vengeance.
Leonardo equalized in the 75th minute, and Ignacio Scocco’s penalty put them in front two minutes later. Leonard then bagged a second two minutes from time to seal the win.
