(GSM) – PAOK Saloniki moved into second place in the Greek Super League following a narrow win at PAS Giannina on Saturday.
The only goal of the match, played at Ioannina’s Zosimades stadium, came from midfielder Georgios Fotakis after 43 minutes of play.
PAOK struggled in the second half as Nikos Arabatzis was sent off with a second yellow card three minutes after the hour, but held on to their small lead to earn three valuable points.
Although Olympiakos have Sunday’s game in hand, PAOK surpass the defending champions and are now five points behind leaders Panathinaikos.
Olympiakos play an away game to Asteras Tripolis no Sunday, while Panathinaikos host Kavala in Athens.
