Paolo Cannavaro on Lazio radar

Lazio could be making a move on Napoli defender Paolo Cannavaro, Il Corriere dello Sport has revealed.

The Biancocelesti have just sacked coach Vladimir Petkovic following a poor run of results and are set to appoint former Napoli boss Edy Reja and the man who has already spent over two years at Stadio Olimpico.

And with Lazio set to enter the market for defensive reinforcements, Edy Reja is likely to try and lure Napoli’s Paolo Cannavaro to Rome.

The experienced tactician knows the player well having coached him during his spell with the Azzurri and is eager to get reunited with the 32-year-old footballer.

Paolo Cannavaro has lost his place in the starting line-up with the arrival of Rafael Benitez and is determined to leave the club in search of first team football.

Lazio host Inter Milan on 6th January hoping to end the dismal run of results, with the Biancocelesti 6/4 to emerge victorious.
