Greek international forward Dimitrios Papadopoulos admits he is happy with his agreed move to Italian side Lecce in January.
The Panathinaikos ace will join Lecce for free in January.
“There was contact with other clubs, but faced with the possibility of coming to Lecce and challenging myself in Italian football, it was not difficult to make this decision,” said the 27-year-old on the official Lecce website.
“I had a few problems with my old club, I was seeking a family and have found it. I know Serie A fairly well even if I have not spoken to Greek players who are in this League yet.
“I know it’s a tough division and I’ll have to work hard to adapt to what the Coach asks of me.
“At Panathinaikos I had some Italian experiences, as I faced Lazio in a friendly and when Alberto Malesani was in charge we took on Udinese in the Champions League.”
He added: “I am primarily right-footed and pretty strong in the air. There are good strikers at Lecce, so I’ll have to work hard to find my place in the starting XI.
“I am confident that I can adapt quickly and prove I am worthy of the Italian League.”
