Paraguay beat Slovakia 2-0 in South Africa on Sunday in their World Cup Group F match to take a huge step towards a place in the second round.

Goals by Enrique Vera and Cristian Riveros saw the South Americans to victory and a total of four points after two matches.

A place in the last 16 looks almost certain with just minnows New Zealand to come on June 24th.

Defending champions Italy play New Zealand later on Sunday – both are on one point after opening draws against Paraguay and Slovakia respectively.
