A report from the Metro suggests that Alan Pardew is ready for a busy January transfer window as he is looking to bring a number of new faces to Newcastle United.
Pardew has had a number of injury problems to deal with this campaign and looks as though he may need to add a bit of strength in depth if his men are to challenge for the top four this season.
The Magpies boss was not able to land a number of his top targets in the summer window, something which he is clearly concerned about.
Lille full-back Mathieu Debuchy seems to be top of the list for Pardew at the moment and the player does seem keen to leave the Ligue 1 outfit. Debuchy has been a long-term target for Newcastle and they could finally secure his services in the New Year.
Pardew said: “The managing director and owner are now trying to make sure we look at the period of events leading up to the next transfer window and we’ll react from there.”
Depending on just which players are available, the club from the North East could bring a number of new men into the club and it could be a very strong Newcastle side playing in the English Premier League for the second half of the season.
