Newcastle has a £4 million bid rejected for Blackpool star Thomas Ince in the summer transfer window, but are set step up their bid in January and secure his services, the Daily Mirror reports.
Ince has been one of the star men for Ian Holloway over the last year or so and he will have been delighted to have kept hold of the winger.
Holloway was not prepared to let Ince go and is looks as though it will take a much bigger bid from the English Premier League side in the New Year.
However, if he maintains his form and manages to stay fit then Alan Pardew will do all he can to bring him to the Sports Direct Arena.
Pardew wants to add some more pace to his squad and the 20-year-old could be the perfect addition to the team in the middle of the season.
Ince has started the season flying for Blackpool, with four goals in as many games in the English Championship and if he continues that kind of form then he could have a number of clubs chasing his signature.
As we have seen in the past though, young, talented English players do not come cheap.
