West Brom have long been a side that is content with staying in the Premier League, enjoying the lovely financial bonus that comes with it, and leaving it at that. Now however they find themselves in danger of having their comfort zone blown apart by the prospect of relegation, and have subsequently fired manager Tony Pulis.
But who will the Baggies turn to in order to save themselves from the certain destruction that accompanies Championship football? Why, Alan Pardew, of course. That’s according to the Birmingham Mail, who report that they former Newcastle and Crystal Palace boss will be announced as the man to save West Brom on Wednesday.
Pardew previously did an incredible job turning around the fortunes of struggling Crystal Palace in 2015, becoming the first manager to take charge of a Premier League side in the bottom three and lead them to a top half finish in the same season. Baggies fans will be hoping that he can recreate this success in Birmingham.
