Barcelona boss Luis Enrique announced that he will be leaving the Spanish giants in the summer

Paris Saint-Germain took another big step towards securing the Ligue 1 title after they saw off rivals Marseille 3-1.

Luis Enrique’s team followed up their Champions League penalty shoot-out victory over Liverpool by breezing to victory over their rivals in Sunday’s Classique.

PSG are unbeaten in the league and are now 19 points clear of Marseille in second.

In-form Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring after 17 minutes, racing onto a throughball before slotting home.

Nuno Mendes doubled PSG’s lead just before the break, finishing from close range.

Marseille dragged themselves back into contention early in the second half when Adrien Rabiot capitalised on a poor pass out of defence and set up Amine Gouiri, who made no mistake.

However, PSG grabbed a third when Marseille defender Pol Lirola turned into his own net in the 76th minute when attempting to clear Achraf Hakimi’s cross.

PSG should have the title sewn up in the coming weeks, and Luis Enrique will just be hoping that they do not let up as they turn their attention to potential European glory.

They have now won their last six Ligue 1 matches against Marseille, conceding only one goal in the process.

PSG have reeled off seven straight league wins, going on their longest such run since a streak of eight between October and December 2023.

The match stats were well in their favour at the Parc des Princes – PSG finished with 16 shots and 2.73 expected goals, with Marseille accumulating just 0.98 xG from 11 attempts.
