Paris Saint-Germain linked with Barcelona midfielder Gavi

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Gavi from Barcelona in the summer transfer window, according to L’Equipe. The report in the French news outlet has claimed that Barcelona are insistent that they will not cash in on the midfielder, but Ligue 1 giants PSG are determined to get a deal done.

Gavi is one of the best young players around and has huge potential. The Spain international midfielder has come through the Barcelona youth system and has established himself as a key figure in the team. There have been injury concerns, but when fit and available, he is one of the first names on the Barcelona and Spain teamsheets.

PSG are at the top of the Ligue 1 table at the moment with 63 points from 28 matches, as many as 10 points clear of second-placed Brest. Meanwhile, defending Spanish champions Barcelona currently find themselves second in the La Liga table with 67 points from 30 matches, as many as nine points behind leaders and bitter rivals Real Madrid.
