Paris Saint-Germain were interested in signing Cristian Romero from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2024, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that PSG could not make progress in negotiations over a deal for Romero, with the player himself keen on staying in North London and Spurs themselves did not want to cash in on the Argentina international central defender.
Romero is one of the best defenders in the world and has been superb for Tottenham and Argentina over the years. The 26-year-old centre-back won the Copa America with Argentina in 2021 and 2024 and the FIFA World Cup with the South American giants in 2022.
Tottenham are one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and are aiming to finish in the top four this season. As for PSG, their objective this campaign is to win Ligue 1 as well as the UEFA Champions League.
