Scott Parker insisted that Tottenham are ready for Liverpool, and are prepared to deliver to remain in the Premier League title hunt.
The midfielder believes that the Reds will be out for revenge after they were beaten 4-0 by Spurs earlier in the season, a game in which Parker said he first understood how good his team really were.
“I’m sure they will want to make amends for earlier in the season,” Parker told the club’s official website.
“We were on fire in that game, played some great stuff and it was hard for Liverpool to live with us.”
“It was my first home game and I came out of it thinking ‘we’ve got some team here’. I knew we had a very good team but that really stood out for me.”
However, Liverpool have been enjoying a good run of form of late having knocked Manchester City and Manchester United out of the League Cup and FA Cup respectively.
“It’s always a big game at Anfield, they’ve had some great results and it will be tough. They have quality all over the pitch, all in good form, so we know it will be difficult,” he said.
“We’ll have to prepare right, we’ll be ready and we know what’s in hand. We have to go there and deliver.”
