Parma have confirmed they are interested in signing Manchester City striker Valeri Bojinov.
The Italian side is keen on bringing the Bularian ace to Italy in a loan deal.
Reports suggest City will allow Bojinov to leave on loan, following the arrivals of Roque Santa Cruz, Emmanuel Adebayor and Carlos Tevez this summer.
“Of course we need to replace [Cristiano] Lucarelli after his Livorno move and we are looking at what is on the market,” said Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi.
“Champions like Bojinov earn exorbitant wages and have been paid a great deal, even if this player has the added bonus of being very young, as he was born in 1986.
“We’re trying to set up talks for Bojinov, but it is premature to talk about this now.
“We are happy with our transfer policy so far and I think we can make the most of many youngsters who want to prove themselves.”
