Parma general director Pietro Leonardi has moved to deny reports that i Ducali were interested in signing Milan forward Philippo Inzaghi.
The veteran striker was heavily linked with a switch to Ennio Tardini after he had hinted at a January exit from San Siro.
However, Parma chief Pietro Leonardi says that the Gialloblu were not keen on signing the 38-year-old.
“No, we were not after Inzaghi,” Parma general director Pietro Leonardi told TV program Premium Calcio.
“We tried to bring in players from a certain age group for the future.
“We signed Roma striker Stefano Okaka, a player who clearly has potential for improvement.”
The former Italy international has long ago lost a place in the starting line-up, but he has since been considered a very important impact player.
However, after missing a big part of last season through injury, Inzaghi has found it hard to even make the substitutes bench, let alone to play several games in succession.
The veteran forward was even left out of Milan’s Champions League squad, which meant that his career at San Siro would soon be over.
The 38-year-old recently revealed that he could leave the club in January, and a loan move to Parma was mentioned.
