Serie A outfit Parma are stepping up their efforts to sign Catania playmaker Francesco Lodi, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
I Ducali are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements after Marco Parolo and Walter Gargano left Ennio Tardini, and they believe the 30-year-old midfielder would be an excellent addition to the squad.
Having decided to make a move on Lodi, Parma officials are set to submit an official proposal for the player’s services and they have another two weeks before the summer transfer window closes to wrap up the deal.
Francesco Lodi is widely tipped to leave Catania after the Elephants were relegated to Serie B, with few more Serie A sides interested in his services.
The experienced midfielder has established himself as one of league’s top playmakers and has so far scored 23 goals in 150 top flight appearances.
His suitors Parma start to new league campaign away to newly-promoted Cesena, where they are 11/8 favourites to win.
