Parma have moved to confirm reports linking them with a summer bid for former player Sebastian Giovinco.
The 27-year-old left I Ducali to sign for Juventus in the summer of 2012 and he enjoyed a good first season upon his return to Turin.
However, he has since seen little playing time and only started 3 Serie A games while making another 8 substitute appearances.
This has led to speculations suggesting he is ready to quit Juventus at the end of the season and Parma are hoping to lure him back to Ennio Tardini.
“Yes, we have a wonderful memory of Giovinco,” Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi confessed to Rai Due.
“You have to recall what we received in selling him, whilst we had paid €4m (for 50 per cent) when he seemed an overrated player – €4m for half, which means a valuation of €8m.
“Could he return to Parma? Yes, sure, I can only say yes. It is clear that he is a very important player and I do not think that Juventus will release him easily, because they have also made an important economic effort to sign him back from us.”
It was due to the lack of action in Turin that Giovinco joined Parma in the first place, but he opted to return to Juventus following two very successful campaigns at Ennio Tardini.
He is again being linked with a move away from the club, and a return to Parma does appear to be a realistic possibility.
