Parma bring Sebastian Giovinco on loan
Parma have announced the signing of Sebastian Giovinco on loan from Juventus and the Ducali have an option to buy half of his contract at the end of the season.
Giovinco was officially presented at Enio Tardini yesterday evening and he is eager to kick-start his career after the poor spell at Juventus.
“I am happy to be a part of this team and this company, after the poor season that is behind me at Juventus. I want to redeem myself and prove my worth.”
The “Atomic Ant” is expected to be one of the key players in Pasquale Marino’s team and he says fitness will not be a problem.
“I had to prepare with Juventus and I feel ready for matches, although I don’t have ninety minutes in my legs yet. I think these two weeks separating us from the start of the season are sufficient to be fully prepared for the first match of the season. I will take advantage of these days to familiarize myself with the teammates, the coach and the environment in general.”
Giovinco was tipped to become one of the stars of Italian football after the successful loan spell at Empoli, but he was never given a real chance at Olimpico and no wonder he failed to live up to the expectations.
Nevertheless, he will finally have the chance to play first team football on regular basis and that should do him a world of good, and I really expect to see Giovinco back to the old glory days in no time.

Adrian Colunga joins Getafe
Getafe have agreed a deal worth 2.5 million euros with Recreativo for striker Adrian Colunga, who has signed a five-year contract with the La Liga outfit.
The transfer was finalized yesterday evening, when the player arrived to Coliseum Alfonso Perez along with his representative Juanma Lopez.
Colunga spent second part of the season on loan at Zaragoza, where he managed to rediscover his form by scoring 7 goals in 16 La Liga games, with the impressive spell at La Romareda helping him a great deal to secure a move to Getafe.
Colunga was brought to the club to replace impressive Roberto Soldado, who made a switch to Valencia, and that will be no easy task after the former Real Madrid player scored 29 goals in 60 La Liga games during the two years at Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Deschamps wants a new striker
Marseille coach Didier Deschamps has reiterated his desire to bring another striker to the club, but the tactician is not willing to let Mamadou Niang leave the club.
Marseille are actively looking for a new striker and boss Didier Deschamps confirmed this was true.
“We have a couple of players that have been released. My desire is clear, I want to sign a striker in the coming days.”
Even though this could mean that the club are looking to replace Mamadou Niang, who has expressed his desire to leave the club, the boss says this is out of question.
“He is the captain, he signed a huge contract. Last year I closed the door to a transfer. I told him we would see this year, but that doesn’t mean I will let him go! And the door is not open. It is very likely he will be the captain on Saturday (for the Ligue 1 opener against Caen). My desire is to make a team more competitive and we will succeed in not selling Niang.”
Even though it is never a good thing to have an unhappy player in the squad, Niang was an integral part of OM’s push for the Ligue 1 title last term and no wonder Deschamps wants him to stay. With the club managing to hold on to Lucho Gonzalez as well, now nothing can stop them from making another serious title challenge.
