Serie A side Parma have confirmed they have a deal in place to sign Panathinaikos midfielder Sotiris Ninis at the end of the season.
The Greek international earlier decided to leave the Greek giants when his contract expires in June.
The 22-year-old received numerous contract offers from big European clubs, but he eventually opted for Parma.
Il Ducali president Tommaso Ghirardi has now confirmed that Ninis will arrive at Ennio Tardini when his contract expires in the summer.
“It’s true, we have got Ninis, who is one of the best young players in Europe and we are proud he has chosen us!” Ghirardi told TV Parma.
“His contract was set to expire and he could’ve joined a bigger club, but he preferred Parma.
“Don’t forget this lad was in the last World Cup and is considered one of the top prospects on the continent.”
The attacking midfielder is a product of Panathinaikos youth school and he made his debut for the senior side in January 2007.
Ninis has since amassed 83 league appearances for PAO, scoring 10 goals in the process.
The Albanian-born midfielder has 18 Greece caps to his name and was part of Otto Rehhaghel’s 23-man squad at the 2010 World Cup.
The highly rated youngster recently returned into action after missing the first part of the season through injury.
