Catalan daily newspaper El Mundo Deportivo understands that Real Madrid are keeping close tabs on Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore.
Following the slow start to his career at Parc des Princes, the Argentine is enjoying a very successful season, having helped the Saints climb to Ligue 1 summit and reach Champions League quarter-finals.
However, Pastore is still not regarded an undisputed member of the starting line-up and the fact his contract expires in June 2016 further complicates things.
PSG officials are ready to offer the 25-year-old a new deal, but the talks over a contract extension hasn’t gone as planned.
As a result, Real Madrid aim to take advantage of the situation and lure the Argentine to Santiago Bernabeu in the summer transfer window.
Carlo Ancelotti is well aware of the player’s qualities having coached him at Parc des Princes and he believes the Argentina international has what it takes to make the grade in Madrid.
