London-based club West Ham are set to sign former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra on a short-term deal until the end of the current campaign.
The 36-year-old last played for Marseille but has been without a club since November when he left the Ligue 1 outfit by mutual consent after getting engaged in a physical altercation with one of the club’s fans ahead of a Europa League fixture.
In the aftermath of the incident French defender was issued a European ban but is available for domestic competitions.
David Moyes is set to reunite with the player he worked with while at Manchester United as he looks to improve the Hammers’ position in the league and help them push up into the top part of the table.
Patrice Evra will be undergoing a medical test on Wednesday after which the confirmation of his deal with West Ham should follow.
