Florentin Pogba has officially become the new player of Atlanta United.
Paul Pogba’s brother is joining the MLS side as a Discovery Signing and is expected to formally become a new Atlanta United player as soon as the club sorts out the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P-1 Visa.
“We’re pleased to officially welcome Florentin to our club,” Atlanta United Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said on Tuesday.
Florentin Pogba is a physical centre-back who most recently played with Turkish Super Lig side Genclerbirligi. He is expected to bring plenty of quality and experience to the backline of the defending MLS champions.
The 28-year-old is arriving at the United States as a free agent after his contract with Genclerbirligi expired.
Pogba had previously spent seven years playing at Saint-Etienne whereas he started his professional career with Sedan in lower ranks of the French football.
Contrary to his brother Paul who is a French international and a World Cup winner, Florentin represents Guinea.
