Paul Robinson has suggested that Ryan Sessegnon will leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
The former Tottenham goalkeeper believes that the signing of Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid this summer means that Sessegnon will either be sold or be sent out on loan before the window closes next month.
Reguilon, who spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Sevilla and was one of the best left-backs in La Liga, cost Tottenham £28 million in transfer fees, according to talkSPORT.
The 23-year-old Spain international will be looking to compete with Ben Davies for the left-back spot in the Tottenham team.
Sessegnon, who can operate as a left-back or as a left-winger, is now going to find it extremely tough to play regularly, and Robinson believes that along with Danny Rose, the 20-year-old could leave this summer.
The England Under-21 international joined Tottenham from Fulham in the summer of 2019, and made four starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League last season, according to WhoScored.
Robinson said on Sky Sports News (12:25pm, September 22, 2020): “Reguilon coming in at left-back, I think that potentially spells the end for Ryan Sessegnon.
“It will probably see him move out on loan or he will leave along with Danny Rose.”
Tottenham’s next game in the Premier League is against Newcastle United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, and, according to Betfair, Jose Mourinho’s side are rated at 11/2 to win 2-0.
