According to the club’s director Michael Reschke, Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard is set to remain in Germany following the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Pavard, who was initially campaigning just to get a spot in France’s squad a few months back, made the headlines in a big way this weekend with an utterly sublime goal that helped Les Bleus on their way towards a thrilling 4-3 victory over Argentina in the Round of 16.
Pavard, 22, has caught the eye of Tottenham Hotspur who could be willing to pay in excess of €50 million for the youngster. Alas, it seems as if Stuttgart are willing to do everything in their power to keep hold of the man who many are already calling the winner of the Goal of the Tournament award.
Benjamin has been with the club since 2016 when he joined from Lille and has made well over 50 appearances for the Bundesliga side. France and Pavard will attempt to keep their World Cup journey going when they face Uruguay in the quarter-finals this Friday.
