Marseille midfielder Dimitri Payet has all but suggested that he will be staying at Stade Velodrome for the foreseeable future.
The 28-year-old has probably been club’s best player this season together with top scorer Andre-Pierre Gignac, but it was believed that OM would listen to offers for the highly rated footballer due to his high salary.
And while a summer exit appeared on the cards just few days ago, especially given Marseille’s struggles in Ligue 1, Dimitry Payet has made it clear he is not looking to leave Stade Velodrome just yet.
“Is La Liga a league that attracts me? Yes, it’s true I said I liked Spain, but also Germany,” Payet told Canal +.
“But that has nothing to do with my situation in Marseille. I feel very good here. My family likes it. I was just talking post Marseille.”
Canal + went on to suggest that the attacking midfielder has no intention to leave the French giants in the summer regardless of the outcome of their Champions League bid.
That will be music to ears of Marseille fans everywhere given the fact that Payet managed 6 goals and 15 assists in 33 league outings this season.
