(GSM) – Slovenia striker Nejc Pecnik will miss the rest of the World Cup because of a broken ankle.

The 24-year-old Pecnik injured his right ankle during a collision with the midfielder Clint Dempsey in the final minutes of Friday’s 2-2 draw with the USA.

Pecnik had appeared on in the 74th minute as a substitute for Zlatan Ljubijankic.

Slovenia will be missing his service when they face England in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday and they need only a draw to reach the knockout stages.
