Blackburn midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen said misfortune has plagued Rovers’ start to the season.
Steve Kean’s side have won just once in their opening 11 league games and are a point off the foot of the table.
However, the Norwegian believes a change of luck may be just around the corner, and then the team will begin to climb away from the danger zone.
“It is tough and a little bit like being kicked while you are down but we have been working hard to try and bounce back,” Pedersen told Sky Sports News.
“At some point the luck has got to turn for us because it cannot always go against us. Hopefully now with the small break for the internationals we can turn the luck for us and hopefully get the small margin going our way and we can get the win.”
A section of the Rovers fans have been calling for the manager’s head for a number of weeks, with protests outside and inside Ewood Park before matchday becoming a regular occurrence.
However, Pedersen has been quick to praise his manager for the positive atmosphere he is working to instill in the players.
“All we talk about at the club is winning,” Pedersen said.
“The boss said that we do not talk about drawing or losing.
“All we talk about is winning now and that is the most important thing – getting the three points.”
