Pedro Pereira edging closer to Benfica return

The talented 18-year-old Portugal right-back Pedro Pereira is one step closer to making a return to his boyhood club.

Having gone through youth ranks in his homeland, Pereira moved to Sampdoria before even gaining his first-team debut at Benfica in 2015.

Pereira has made only 9 Serie A appearances since his move to Italy and is expected to leave during the January transfer window, with his former club ready to come back for the 18-year-old after first restoring contact with Pereira back in August.

Portugal daily news outlet Abola has picked up on information regarding a deal between Sampdoria and Benfica which will see the Portugal giants pay €2 million and include the Serbian midfielder Filip Djuricic in order to secure the signature of their former defender.

The Italians have reportedly given the nod to a proposed deal that will be made official once the transfer window reopens in January.
