Real Madrid announced on Monday it has appointed Chilean Manuel Pellegrini, currently with Villareal, as the club’s new coach.
“Real Madrid C.F. and Manuel Pellegrini have reached a deal for the Chilean to become the first team head coach,” it said in a statement.
It said he would be officially presented at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Tuesday by the club’s new president, Florentino Perez.
Pellegrini replaces Juande Ramos, who was handed a six-month contract in mid-December.
