Manager Pep Guardiola is under contract with Manchester City until the summer of 2021, but there have been many speculations about whether or not the contract contains a clause allowing the Catalan to leave the club 12 months early. Guardiola himself denied the existence of such a clause, and on several occasions he strongly claimed he would be at City come next season.
And according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, with City being 14 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool at the moment, Guardiola already has 2020/21 on his mind, when some of City’s current players might not be there anymore.
