Pep Guardiola tells Manchester City to sign Martin Zubimendi

Manchester City are interested in signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in the January transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that City, who won the Premier League title last season, are keen on signing a replacement for Rodri in the middle of the season, and that Guardiola is personally keen on a deal for Zubimendi.

Fichajes has claimed that Guardiola has urged the City board to get a deal done for Zubimendi in the January transfer window. Liverpool and Arsenal are also keen on the 25-year-old Spain international defensive midfielder, who has a release clause of €60 million in his contract. Rodri is injured at the moment.

Zubimendi has come through the Sociedad youth academy and has established himself in the first team. The  Spain international has scored one goal and provided one assist in 15 starts and one substitute appearance in La Liga and has played four times in the UEFA Europa League for La Real so far this season.
